Proper Installation & Operation Tips for Coolant-Through Collets

Based on long-term field application data, our company releases practical operation guidelines for coolant-through collets to help machine shops avoid leakage issues and fully tap into internal cooling processing benefits.

Prior to mounting, wipe away oil residue and metal chips from the tool holder and collet bore, and inspect end seals for cracks or wear. Assemble the collet with ER nut onto cutting tools and fasten with proper torque; over-tightening will deform the collet and compromise clamping accuracy. When connecting the coolant line, start with low-pressure trial run to spot leaks, then ramp up pressure to the machine’s standard working rating once no seepage occurs.

For routine maintenance, replace worn seals periodically and clear debris from coolant outlets to avoid blockages. Follow these practices, and the collet will deliver consistent end-face coolant spray, prolong tool life and greatly improve chip evacuation during CNC machining.
